Theodore Michael DeCesare is the owner of several companies that involve custom home building, property acquisition and development and property management. From grandfather, Theodore, who immigrated from the Italian region of Molise, and learned the crafts of brick & stone masonry, to his father Pat who expanded on these crafts and started building custom homes and developing property in the 1970’s, to Theodore who worked under the tutelage of his father and grandfather as a boy carrying brick, block, digging ditches, cleaning out properties etc.
Theodore went onto college and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. From there he went to work for Newport News Ship Building in Virginia. When the economy for residential housing improved in the latter half of the 1980’s, Theodore came back to his hometown in Murrysville to work with his father and learn the intricacies of custom home building, and with the blessing of his father, started DeCesare Corporation in 1989.
Theodore’s favorite aspect of his home building and property development businesses are creating detailed designs tailored to site locations, customer desires, and market conditions & customer budgets. “The creation of great homes and community developments occurs when all parties involved work as a team. We are extremely proud to have our customers, workers, suppliers, and government officials who help us put our homes and developments together as friends both in our business relationships and in our daily lives...Murrysville & Franklin Regional is one of the truly great family style municipalities in Westmoreland County, and for that matter in all of Pennsylvania.”
All of DeCesare’s available lots within their various residential communities in Murrysville, Penn Township, and Unity Township are open for customers to bring their own builders. Theodore and team maintain control over the home’s exterior designs to insure their communities keep their originally intended level of architectural appeal and prestige that has become synonymous with the DeCesare name and their communities. Continually family-operated, DeCesare has been responsible for creating properties that have enhanced the landscape, enriched the lives of the region’s residents and served as benchmarks in the development industry.
Pat DeCesare
General Manager
Pat DeCesare represents the next generation of leadership at DeCesare Properties, bringing hands-on business experience and a deep understanding of the company's legacy in homebuilding, land development, and property management.
After graduating from the University of Louisville with a degree in business administration & marketing, Pat spent several years expanding his knowledge and experience in the corporate insurance world, managing risk for middle-market construction and healthcare clients. While he earned early recognition for his performance, his long-term vision was always to return to the family business and build something of his own.
In 2025, that vision became reality. Pat stepped into an active leadership role, helping launch two new divisions within DeCesare Properties: a spec home development arm and rental expansion strategy. He now oversees the company's full rental portfolio- including residential units, land holdings, and commercial properties.
Pat's focus is on scaling the business without compromising the reputation and values that have defined the DeCesare name for over 70 years: hard work, quality craftsmanship, and long-term thinking.
Kaitlyn DiazGranados
Design Assistant
Kaitlyn is currently pursuing her education in Architectural Design and Drafting, where she is building a strong foundation in design principles, technical drawing, and sustainable architectural practices, just as a strong foundation is key for a building. Her passion for architecture stems from being one of ten siblings. Having such a tight-knit family caused a deep appreciation for how thoughtful spaces can foster connection, functionality, and a sense of belonging.
In her role at DeCesare Properties, including DeCesare Homes and Beverly Manor (Senior Living Facility), Kaitlyn contributes to both the creative and strategic sides of the business. She assists with design drawings, translating ideas into visual plans that align with the company’s vision and standards.
At the same time, she plays an active role in expanding DeCesare Properties’ social media presence, helping to showcase the company’s projects, values, and unique approach to design. She plans to take her experience and coming knowledge alongside theirs, to create the best products for the company and their customers. Kaitlyn supports efforts to strengthen the firm’s connection with the community and potential clients and aspires to contribute her skills and perspective to DeCesare Properties.
With a strong belief in the value of collaboration and a family-oriented work culture, Kaitlyn looks forward to continuing her growth within the company while contributing to meaningful, community-focused design.
