Theodore Michael DeCesare is the driving force behind DeCesare Properties, a name synonymous with excellence in custom homebuilding, real estate development, and property management throughout Westmoreland County.
Born into a lineage of craftsmen, Theodore inherited more than a trade, he inherited a mission. His grandfather, an Italian immigrant from the town of Castalina in the province of Molise, brought with him the enduring values of hard work and precision. He formed his masonry business in Pittsburgh, mastering brick and stone masonry.
Theodore’s father, Pat DeCesare, built on that foundation, transitioning from tradesman to home building, and turning raw land into thriving neighborhoods throughout the Murrysville area.
From a young age, Theodore was no stranger to dirt under his fingernails or sweat on his brow. Before he ever held a title, while in grade school and through his college years, he was carrying brick & block in his father's masonary business, and digging ditches, grading for concrete floors organizing, and cleaning the homes his father was building.
Theodore didn’t just learn the business, he lived it. It’s that same blue-collar grit, sharpened by formal training, that has defined his leadership ever since.
Graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology from the University of Pittsburgh, Theodore sharpened his technical skillset at Newport News Shipbuilding before returning to Murrysville in the later part of the 1980s. With his father’s blessing, and the community’s growing need for high-quality homes, Theodore founded DeCesare Corporation in 1989 laying the groundwork for what would become one of the most respected family-run custom home building and development firms in the region.
Today, Theodore leads with the same principles he was raised on: precision, accountability, and unwavering pride in a job well done.
His favorite part of the business remains the same, customizing designs to fit budgets, needs, and desires while bringing a like minded team of proffesional consultants, workers, and suppliers together to build homes and communities that last.
Whether it’s collaborating with government officials, other engineers, realtors, designers, suppliers, subcontractors, customer's or homeowners, Theodore fosters relationships built on trust and shared vision.
Many areas of Westmoreland County have felt the impact of Theodore’s work. His developments blend architectural excellence with timeless neighborhood character, earning the DeCesare name a reputation for quality, class, and community leadership.
Pat DeCesare
General Manager
Pat DeCesare represents the next generation of leadership at DeCesare Properties, bringing hands-on business experience and a deep understanding of the company's legacy in homebuilding, land development, and property management.
After graduating from the University of Louisville with a degree in business administration & marketing, Pat spent several years expanding his knowledge and experience in the corporate insurance world, managing risk for middle-market construction and healthcare clients. While he earned early recognition for his performance, his long-term vision was always to return to the family business and build something of his own.
In 2025, that vision became reality. Pat stepped into an active leadership role, helping launch two new divisions within DeCesare Properties: a spec home development arm and rental expansion strategy. He now oversees the company's full rental portfolio- including residential units, land holdings, and commercial properties.
Pat's focus is on scaling the business without compromising the reputation and values that have defined the DeCesare name for over 70 years: hard work, quality craftsmanship, and long-term thinking.
Kaitlyn DiazGranados
Design Assistant
Kaitlyn is currently pursuing her education in Architectural Design and Drafting, where she is building a strong foundation in design principles, technical drawing, and sustainable architectural practices, just as a strong foundation is key for a building. Her passion for architecture stems from being one of ten siblings. Having such a tight-knit family caused a deep appreciation for how thoughtful spaces can foster connection, functionality, and a sense of belonging.
In her role at DeCesare Properties, including DeCesare Homes and Beverly Manor (Senior Living Facility), Kaitlyn contributes to both the creative and strategic sides of the business. She assists with design drawings and translating ideas into visual plans that align with the company’s vision and standards.
At the same time, she plays an active role in expanding DeCesare Properties’ social media presence, helping to showcase the company’s projects, values, and unique approach to design. She plans to take her experience and coming knowledge alongside theirs, to create the best products for the company and their customers. Kaitlyn supports efforts to strengthen the firm’s connection with the community and potential clients and aspires to contribute her skills and perspective to DeCesare Properties.
With a strong belief in the value of collaboration and a family-oriented work culture, Kaitlyn looks forward to continuing her growth within the company while contributing to meaningful, community-focused design.
